Chocolate Trifle Pudding with a twist!

Now as promised to all my followers earlier I am going to show you guys how to use your leftover cakes and make an impressive pudding.

For the cake to be cut into shapes you need to put it in cling wrap. That helps the cake firm up but not loose it’s moisture. Use a cookie cutter or a glass to cut round shapes.

I used Sherry glasses here. They are deep and wide enough to make a good portion of the pudding. Plus they look so pretty. You can use Mason Jars if you don’t have these glasses.

🍭Now I made the store bought custard here. It’s easy to make. I prefer making it the night before so that it cools down and gets dense. The instructions for making the custard is very simple.

🍭To make Vanilla custard to a chocolate flavour you just need to add 2 tablespoon of dark Cocoa to 1 tablespoon of cold milk and mix well. Add into your custard when it comes down to room temperature. Then put it in the fridge to set.

🍭Melt half cup of dark chocolate buttons and half cup of white chocolate buttons seperately in microwave for ten second bursts. Ensure that you don’t end up burning the chocolate. Add in 1 teaspoon of lukewarm milk to each chocolate bowl. Add in room temperature Yogurt about 1 tablespoon at a time till it reaches a mousse consistency. Now you have a dark chocolate mousse and a white chocolate mousse.

🍭Cut 4 circles of the cake. This will make two pudding glasses. Put the first circle at the bottom of the glass. Add in a good dollop of the custard into the glass. Now I didn’t add in any sugar to my custard since the mousse are very sweet and will lend in the perfect balance to the dish.

🍭Next add in cherries to give it a crunch. Then add in the dark chocolate mousse. Use a spoon and just let it sit in the middle of the custard. Now make sure it’s a big circle but it’s within the custard. Now add in white chocolate mousse in the middle and you have three different shades of circles. Now take a toothpick and make swirls.

🍭Add in cake crumbs as next layer. Now top it with cutout cake circle on top. Use a piping bag and put some whipped cream on top. I had some Cream Cheese mix lying in my fridge from the previous Cheesecake and it worked out so well. Add in some red currants or whatever fresh fruit you have and serve.

Those swirls will be visible when you cut through the cake crumbs. It will delight your guests so much. Ensure your custard is not runny or too firm. Just the consistency of a tender jelly so it can hold onto the mousse and the cake. Otherwise the pudding will collapse on itself if it’s too runny.
